Valdez, AlaskaFibreco’s exports at Valdez are through NPI,LLP's terminal located 10 minutes by car from downtown Valdez. The terminal is an ice-free port, with 21 acres of warehousing and storage space. NPI, LLC has leased 2.5 to 4 acres of space for the wood chip business. This allows the stockpiling of 1 to 2 vessel loads of wood chips. The species are aspen and spruce. There is a floating dock that extends 200 ft from the main area. The conveyor system spans the water space between the storage area and the floating dock and connects with a swivel pivot ship loading system. The chips go into the hatch via a slinger system and D4 bulldozers go inside the hatch to provide trimming. |
